EDUCATION
Holds a BA degree with majors in Sociology and English and
holds a Masters of Education in Adult Education.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Chose a
career in the church and Non –Governmental Organizations
movement since 1979 focusing on development work. Worked as
an Extension Worker for the Christian Council of Lesotho,
moved to Transformation Resource Centre as a Community
Worker, Trainer and Peace activist. Got engaged as a
Development Worker by the Diocese of Bethlehem in the Free
State and came back to Lesotho and became a Director at
Community Legal Resource and Advice Centre (CLRAC). This
organization gave legal advise to the poor through trained
paralegals, gave civic and voter education and education on
human rights. Has also worked for the Irish Consulate
initially as an advisor in the education sector but later
became an advisor on governance issues which included human
rights, gender, justice and media. Became an IEC
Commissioner in July 2003.
Interest in women’s issues has always been high on the
agenda, served briefly as a secretary for the Lesotho
National Council of Women. Had an interest in trade union
activities and served as the President of the Lesotho
Council of NGOs. Has interest in HIV/AIDS issues, to this
effect she helped the Roman Catholic Church to develop a
strategic Plan for its HIV/AIDS work.
