ELECTIONS TOUR BY IEC OFFICIAL
The chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission Mr.
Leshele Thoahlane and Commissioner Malefetsane Nkhahle will
be leaving the country on Sunday the 4th of March, 2007 to
attend the International Conference in South Africa on
Sustaining Africa’s Democratic momentum organized by African
Union and IEC South Africa from 4th -7th of March,2007.
Thereafter on the 7th – 9th of March, 2007; the Chairman of
the IEC will stay in South Africa to attend Electoral
Institute of Southern Africa (EISA) board meeting in his
capacity the Chairman of the Board of Directors, while the
Commissioner will be heading back to Lesotho.
While in South Africa; Mr. Leshele Thoahlane will be joined
by the Director of Elections Mr. Khothatso Ralitsie on the
9th of March, 2007 on Election tour to various countries
across the world: They will be going to Finland to observe
the Finnish Elections whereby they are invited by the
Finland Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This will be from the
9th till the 19th of March, 2007.
They will be heading to London for meeting with Commonwealth
and Eris officials from the 20th – 24th of March, 2007;
where they will then leave the following day and now attend
a conference on Global Electoral Organisation Network in
Washington which is organized by IFES from the 25th – 30th
of March, 2007.
The Chairman and the Director of Elections will end their
tour after having a meeting with Code Inc. officials in
Ottawa Canada from the 30th – 3rd of April, 2007.
